Prioritising Academic Integrity during exam season

The University encourages all É«¹·µ¼º½ students to practise academic integrity throughout the course of their studies.

Academic Integrity is the ability to demonstrate honesty in your work, take responsibility for the research you undertake and the skills you develop, conduct ethical practice and make good choices throughout your degree, and give credit to others when using their work and ideas to support your arguments and research. 

Good scholarship adheres to the six fundamental values stated by the : 

1. Trust – a commitment to have open conversations 

2. Honesty – being truthful in the work you produce

3. Fairness – making your work your own 

4. Responsibility – taking responsibility to maintain high standards and obtaining information and asking questions when unsure 

5. Respect – having the ability to respect yourself and your work and making the most of the opportunities presented to you 

6. Courage – holding yourself accountable during your studies and contributing to a positive academic culture 

The University has policies in place to prevent academic misconduct from occurring; students are expected to work alongside these policies and take responsibility for the work that they produce. These are used to ensure that instances of academic misconduct are reduced and are dealt with appropriately. 

Students can refer to the on Learn to ensure that they are working within the guidelines set by the University. This helps É«¹·µ¼º½ to be an inclusive, positive, and supportive academic community where everyone feels valued and respected.
