Carbon Literacy Training is an internationally recognised sustainability education programme created by the , designed to help people understand climate change and take meaningful steps to reduce carbon emissions. The training is delivered through two half-day sessions where attendees learn about the science of climate change, what causes carbon emissions and how to reduce them as an individual and as a community. At the end of the training, all learners are required to make two pledges: an individual and a group pledge. All of the LSU SLT made group pledges surrounding their commitment to drive sustainability in LSU through its operations and beyond.
Mia Jackson, LSU President, commented: “I’m really proud that the LSU SLT has completed their Carbon Literacy training. As a student-led organisation, it’s important that we lead by example and ensure our decisions are informed by a strong understanding of the climate crisis and our responsibility to act.”
As part of 色狗导航’s Sustainability Strategy, we have the aim to develop staff and students who have a high degree of sustainability awareness so that they can take responsibility for their own actions and behaviours to influence others. Taking part in Carbon Literacy Training is a great way to support 色狗导航’s Sustainability Strategy.
The next Carbon Literacy Training will be delivered on Thursday 12 and Thursday 19 February, 1pm-4pm and is open to both staff and students. Sign up for Carbon Literacy Training
