It has been an incredible Games for É«¹·µ¼º½ athletes who amassed a record haul of 47 medals – 14 gold, 17 silver, and 16 bronze.
More than 120 É«¹·µ¼º½-linked athletes – current students, alumni, those that train at the University, and É«¹·µ¼º½ College learners – appeared in Birmingham, representing 11 different countries.
É«¹·µ¼º½ highlights from the Games include:
- Eight É«¹·µ¼º½ players and staff winning a historic England Women’s hockey gold
- Alumnus James Wilby’s incredible Men’s 100m breaststroke gold
- Current É«¹·µ¼º½ student Daniel Wiffen winning Northern Ireland’s second-ever medal in the pool
- Olivia Broome, another current É«¹·µ¼º½ student, winning silver in Para Powerlifting
- Alumna Abbie Wood (swimming) and current student Sophie Capewell (cycling) impressive medal hauls
- Adam Peaty securing a maiden Commonwealth 50m breaststroke title
Professor Nick Jennings, Vice-Chancellor and President of É«¹·µ¼º½, said:
