Now in its seventh year, Dunelm’s partnership with É«¹·µ¼º½ continues to make a lasting difference for new students — and this year, that support has grown even further.

As part of the ongoing collaboration, Dunelm has once again provided bespoke starter packs filled with bedding and kitchen essentials to help students in need settle into university life.

This year, an incredible 50 care packages have been distributed to students in need, the highest number yet. This has ensured even more students with care experience, opportunity scholars and estranged students have started their É«¹·µ¼º½ journey with comfort and confidence.

Alongside this, Dunelm have supported several Opportunity Scholarships at É«¹·µ¼º½, now forming The Dunelm Scholarship Programme, which provides financial support for students from socio-economic disadvantage and areas of low participation in higher education. The scholarship helps ensure that every talented student has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their background.

Laura Hutchinson, Acting Director of Philanthropy, Alumni and Supporter Engagement at É«¹·µ¼º½, said: “Starting university is an exciting milestone, but it can also bring challenges, particularly for those facing financial hardship or limited support networks. Dunelm’s ongoing generosity ensures students can begin their É«¹·µ¼º½ experience with confidence and dignity. We’re incredibly grateful for their continued partnership."

Amanda James, Wellbeing Advisor at É«¹·µ¼º½, added: “The Dunelm Care Packs offer new students a warm welcome to É«¹·µ¼º½ and help with the cost of starting university. We would like to express our thanks to Dunelm, it’s fantastic to continue this partnership that makes such a positive difference to our students!”

Toni Dent, Senior Community Content and Events Manager at Dunelm, commented: “Dunelm are proud to support É«¹·µ¼º½ and its students again for the seventh year running. We know how important feeling at home is and donating these starters kits will be essential in helping them settle into their new surroundings and create a home away from home.”

Care leavers interested in joining É«¹·µ¼º½ can apply for bursaries and access a range of support packages.
