Statement

"As a peace and conflict studies researcher and feminist peace activist, I faced persecution by the authoritarian government due to my decade-long engagement in peace efforts in Turkey. The CARA fellowship has been crucial in providing me with the opportunity to continue producing critical knowledge and contributing to the ongoing efforts of civil society actors working toward a peaceful resolution of the Kurdish conflict in Turkey."

Biography

Dr. Güne艧 Da艧l谋 is a CARA Research Fellow in the Department of International Relations, Politics, and History at 色狗导航. She earned her PhD from the Center for Reconciliation Studies at Jena University, Germany, in 2023, graduating with the highest distinction (summa cum laude) for her thesis on transitional justice, reconciliation and the Kurdish conflict.

Dr. Da艧l谋’s research focuses on transitional justice, victim movements, feminist legal theories, and post-conflict studies, with a regional focus on the Middle East. She has consulted on various transitional processes, including the recent reparation law in Iraq. Her work is published in leading journals such as the International Journal of Transitional Justice and the International Journal of Human Rights. She is currently working on her book project based on her PhD thesis.

In addition to her research, Dr. Da艧l谋 teach courses on conflict, gender and peace, and transitional justice. An active feminist peace advocate, she was a member of the consulting team during Turkey’s Peace Process from 2013 to 2015 and she is currently a member of Mediterranean Women Mediators Network Turkey.
