Student Cancellation Policy

Due to high demand for DSA support, we ask that you prioritise attending your sessions. Please put your sessions in your diary and read the information below to understand cancellation processes.

Cancellation notification period

You need to email from your University account with at least 24 hours’ notice and provide a valid reason.

Please note that 24 hours’ notice excludes weekends, bank holidays and University closure days. If you have an appointment on Monday morning, you will need to notify us by the Friday before at the latest 4pm for it to be classed as a cancellation.

The impact of missing a session without cancelling

If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice or miss a session without cancelling, it will be recorded as a missed appointment within one period and will count towards your total number of approved DSA appointments.

If you miss two or more sessions within one period, regardless of reason, you will be asked to meet with the Service Manager to discuss how best to engage with your support or explore alternative options.

Periods:

  • Cancellation Period 1: 1st September – 31st December
  • Cancellation Period 2: 1st January – 30th April
  • Cancellation Period 3:  1st May – 31thAugust
