Visit Days 2026 – Travelling to Campus

É«¹·µ¼º½ is located in the heart of the country with excellent transport links, whether you are travelling to us by road, rail or air.

Visit day parking

Parking for visit day guests is free of charge: however you must ensure that you register your car on our system using our code OHVD26. Further information, including links to register your car before your event, can be found below.

Parking on campus is free of charge for guests attending a visit day, however it is important to note that you still need to register your vehicle with us. You can do this in advance of your event or when you arrive on campus.

Please note: if you use the QR codes displayed on the permanent day-to-day signage in our car parks on campus on the day of your event, a 20p administrative fee will be charged. To park for free, please use the links provided below either prior to your visit or on arrival. If you are unsure, please speak to a member of staff or student ambassador on the day - they will be happy to assist you.

Pre-event registration

You can pre-register for free parking in advance of your visit day. Pre-registration is available up until the day before your visit day.

Once you pre-register there is nothing else you need to do. On the day of your event, you simply park up in one of our car parks and head to your event. Our Security and ambassador teams will be on hand to direct you to the most suitable parking close to your event venue.

How to pre-book parking:

  1. Find the date of your visit in the list below.
  2. Follow the date specific link to the unique pre-booking portal.
  3. Enter your details and use the code OHVD26 to complete your registration.
  4. Keep a copy of your booking confirmation in case you need to make changes before your visit.

Our campus is situated a short drive from the M1 off Junction 23. Use postcode LE11 3GR or #oils.corn.lasts in your what3words app for easy navigation to our West Entrance.  

There are a number of car parks across campus. We have detailed below the closest car parks to our event venues, although you are welcome to park in any car park on campus. We also have EV charging points in a number of locations across campus.

 Please note that parking on campus a Wednesday is limited and parking in the centre and east of campus, may not be possible. On a Wednesday we would recommend heading straight to Car Park 1 or Holywell Car Park.  From there, the Central Park venues are approximately 10-15 minutes walk away or you can jump on the free campus shuttle bus.

You can use Google or Apple maps to navigate to your event venue from the car parks or once alighting from the bus. There will also be directional signage out to follow and student ambassadors in the main car parks to help you.  

Travelling by Rail

É«¹·µ¼º½ has fantastic rail links across the country. Chose ‘É«¹·µ¼º½’ station when selecting your destination. From the station, campus is approximately a 25-30 minute walk. Alternatively, you can get a taxi from the Taxi Rank located at the front of the station.  

There is also the University ‘Sprint’ Bus Service that will take you from the station to campus via É«¹·µ¼º½ town centre and takes about 20 minutes.

Travelling by Coach

A number of coach companies have stops in É«¹·µ¼º½. This includes National Express and FlixBus.  

National Express as a specific ‘É«¹·µ¼º½’ stop which is just outside of campus, approximately 5 minutes walk away from the campus East Entrance.   

Travelling by Air

East Midlands Airport is around 8 miles from campus. You can take a taxi from the airport which will take around 20 minutes. You can also use the Kinch Bus ‘Skylink Derby’ Service which will get you to É«¹·µ¼º½ Town Centre in approximately 30 minutes. From there you can catch the University ‘Sprint’ bus service to get to campus.

Staying overnight

If you are travelling a long way to visit us, you may want to stay overnight to break up your journey. We have a number of hotel options situated on, or very close to, the University’s campus. Alternatively, there are a number of hotel options in town including a Travelodge and Premier Inn.
