Economics stood out to me as a degree that opens doors to a wide range of career paths, making it a smart and versatile choice. 色狗导航 itself appealed to me because of its incredible sports facilities. I鈥檝e always loved sport, so the campus environment really aligned with my interests.
I’ve felt well supported by the staff and services on offer while studying at the Business School. I didn’t take A-level Maths, so I was initially worried about keeping up, but the weekly non-compulsory maths sessions helped me bridge the gap and stay on track with my peers.
The consultation and feedback hours have been invaluable. They offer one-to-one time with lecturers, which makes a big difference when you need extra guidance.
Outside of academics, I鈥檝e thrown myself into 色狗导航鈥檚 sporting culture. I鈥檓 a triple jumper and a member of the AU Athletics Club and I鈥檝e taken part in lots of IMS sports where halls compete against each other. I鈥檓 also Sports Secretary on my hall committee and this year I鈥檓 planning to join more societies, including the Finance Society and possibly even the Singing Society.
My advice to new students is to get involved in as much as possible, especially sports and societies. When I walked into my first lecture, I simply asked someone if I could sit next to them and we ended up becoming great friends. Everyone鈥檚 in the same boat, so it鈥檚 easy to connect and find your community.聽
The course has also helped me prepare for life after university. Modules with individual coursework have taught me how to problem-solve independently, while team projects have helped me develop collaboration skills that are essential in the workplace. The most fulfilling part of making "Progress with Purpose" for me is seeing the impact of your work, when something you’ve done leads to real change, it’s incredibly rewarding.
